Probation
Calvin Hall of Huntly was sentenced to ten years in the state penitentiary by Judge Rayner V. Snead in Rappahannock Circuit Court last Wednesday. Snead suspended nine years of the sentence and placed Hall on probation for three years, pending receipt of a satisfactory work and home plan. Hall was found guilty of shooting Harry Lewis in an incident at Pine Knot Inn near Washington last year. Since his conviction* he has served a year in jail and on Wednesday, was remanded to the Sheriffs custody until approval of the work-home plan. As a further condition of probation. Hall was ordered to pay court costs and any hospital bills not covered by Lewis’ insurance.
