Jenkins Killed
Donnie Lee Jenkins, 19, of Washington, was the fatal victim of a single vehicle crash about 1:15 Sunday morning. According to Trooper C. A. Moore, Jenkins was traveling south on Route 522 north of Flint Hill when the accident occured.
The officer said Jenkins ran off the right of the highway and struck a tree. He was pinned inside the vehicle, a 1979 Ford, which was totally demolished.
Jenkins was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital by a Front Royal rescue unit where he was pronounced dead.
A collision involving two vehicles was investigated Monday morning by Trooper R. A. Baines at the intersection of Routes 211 and 522 at Massie’s Comer. Operating a Ford sedan was Dean Hitt of Amissville 1
which struck a Chevrolet | pickup driven by Charles 1 Stringfellow of Washington, Baines said.
Both vehicles were declared a total loss. Hitt sustained minor injuries and Stringfellow had possible chest and back injuries.
