In his letter. Snead noted that he was making an early announcement of his decision to retire so that members oi the bar and other judges would have an opportunity to nominate candidates for the vacancy in time for appointment by the 1 WO General Assembly.
According to his letter. Snead hopes to have "much more time to engage in some of my present interests, that I have not been able to fully enjoy while serving as judge, and perhaps develop some new ones" after retirement. With his wife Lois, he also plans to visit their daughter Libby, a Peace Corps volunteer in Malaysia next year.
