National Fruit Products Company, Inc., makers of White House apple products and processors of more apples than any other company in this part of the country, announced on Tuesday afternoon the prices that it will pay for this year’s crop. The news for Rappahannock growers isn’t good.
According to Frank Armstrong, president of National Fruit, prices will be $6.25 per hundred pounds for apples 2J/« inches and up; $5 for 2'/j to 2V* inch apples; $4.25 for under 2'/i inch apples and $4.50 for straight loads of juice apples.
