During his tenure as General District Court Judge, William W. Carson Jr. has demonstrated a profound knowledge of and respect for the laws of the Commonwealth.
He has sat on the bench for hours at a time, listening to evidence and, at times, hearing preposterous tales from persons on the witness stand. He always has brought a sense of decorum to the courtroom, never taking matters lightly.
Perhaps more than anything else. Judge Carson has resisted the temptation of setting himself up as society’s “punisher” who always comes down hard on persons accused of crimes. Instead, he has sought to administer justice fairly and without prejudice. That, after all, is the true purpose of our legal system.
Judge Carson has made many friends in the time he has sat on the General District Court bench. His presence will be missed.
