Flood Damage
State Senator Nathan Miller made a personal visit Thursday to Rappahannock County to investigate the damages caused by the excessive rain and flood waters which devastated the area Tuesday night.
“I wanted to see for myself the damages caused by the flood waters; it was just catastrophic to see fences gone, bridges half or completely tom from the road, cars stuck in “mud banks” in small streams and the huge ditches along the roads.”
Senator Miller contacted the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors anf voiced his support of the Board’s decision to declare the County a disaster area.
“Today, Governor Dalton signed Executive Order No. 30 declaring an emergency and directing the Office of Emergency Services and State Highway Department to render immediate assistance,” said Miller.
