For Seniors

The Last Minute Wood Company, a dance-theatre group from Rappahannock will give a performance for senior citizens on Friday, Sept. 7 at the nutritional site at Hampton Inn near Washington.

This is one of five performances scheduled for this fall at the following locations: Washington Community Center on Sept. 15 and 19; Moving Arts Center, Warrenton, Nov. 10 and Four County Players, Barboursville, Dec. 2. All are at 8 p.m.

This is the third year that the Last Minute Wood Company has produced and performed an original dancedrama. The group, directed by Ms. Sally Nash, is located in Washington, Va. where Ms. Nash teaches modern dance. She is a professional dancer and choreographer who moved here from Washington, D. C. and continues to perform with the dance exchange in D. C.

This year’s piece is “Seven Dreams and An Awakening” in which Ms,Nash dances the lead role, supported by a cast of five. The music, sets, and lighting design have been created by artists who are based in Rappahannock.

Reunion

The Lillard family reunion will be held Sunday, September 16 at 1 p.m. at the Flint Hill carnival grounds. Members of the family and friends are urged to attend and bring a picnic lunch.
