The Flint Hill Rescue Squad transported Thurmon Wharton from his home in Flint Hill January 7 to Warren Memorial.
Miss Addie Boyd was taken from her home January 10 to the University of Virginia, Charlottesville and Kathleen Drone was taken from Rt. 659 to Warren Memorial on January 11.
Amisville Rescue Squad responded January 5 to Route 618 but were not needed and to the home of Bertie Fletcher at Jeffersonton.
Amissville Fire Company was called January 4 to the barn Tire at John Sheffield's property.

The revised "Virginia Directory of Firewood Sources” is now available from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Free copies may be obtained by writing: FIREWOOD DIRECTORY. VDACSDivision of Markets, 203 N. Governor Street, Richmond. Virginia 23219, or by calling (804) 786-3951.
The directory lists approximately 270 sources of firewood throughout the state, an increase of about 40 over the first edition published last October. However, many of the original listings have since sold out, so consumers will need the new edition to ascertain the current firewood sources in their locality. The updated Firewood Directory also shows more public land with fuelwood available.
As in the previous edition, the Firewood Directory lists the hours when orders may be placed, types of wood available and type of sale—customer-cut wood, pre-cut wood and delivered wood.
