Even after a new director is found, “I’ll continue to do some clinical work,” LeGarde said.
The doctor conducts routine monthly clinics in Orange, Fauquier and Rappahannock and special clinics in Culpeper and Madison. Usually, regional health department directors are more desk-bound than LeGarde. "Most directors just aren’t interested in holding clinics,” Rappahannock’s public health nurse, Frances Thornton, said.
