Gaa Tank Purchase To solve gas supply and storage problems, the board agreed to purchase a 275 gallon tank for unleaded gas used in cars assigned to driver education, the superintendent and assistant superintendent.
With the added storage capacity, the 500-gallon high school tank now used for unleaded gas can be filled with leaded to supplement the 1,000 gallon tanks at the bus garage.
According to school board member Walter Masterson, the transportation fleet currently uses about 250 gallons of leaded gas per day. The three vehicles using unleaded gas require approximately 25 gallons daily. “I think that’s excessive,” stated Masterson, in reference to the use of unleaded fuel.
