When she first complained about hemorrhaging and irregularities in her monthly menstrual cycle, Sharon was "pooh-poohed by the doctors. Everybody said I was neurotic, that I was just another typical neuroticapproaching menopause."

She persisted and finally, following an examination and tests, the doctors diagnosed cancer of the cervix. After surgery and hospitalization for three months, she was released and they discovered they hadn’t gotten it all." Sharon said.
