In 1950. with nationwide trends. Sperrvville High School joined with Washington to form a consolidated county high schopl. in Washington. Va. The Sperrvville School continued its history in education as an elementary school until 1968 when a newconsolidated elementary school opened in Washington.
Today. the familiar structure is still a flourishing center of community life, but in a somewhat different capacity. Under the management of J. Maurice O’Bannon of Sperryville, the dormant school house has been revitalized as one of the community’s most successful business enterprises.
