The east of the Rappahannock Library’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore has been selected and is well into the rehearsal schedule.

The role of Ralph is being played by David St. Jean while Judy Bomberger as Josephine plays his leading lady. Chosen for the part of the Captain is Waldron O’Conner, with Sir Joseph being interpreted by Steve Hostetter.

The coveted role of Buttercup was awarded Cathy Jones with Mary O’Meara playing Cousin Hebe. Dick Deadeye, the rascal, is played by Mike Connifey while the Boatswain and Carpenter are under the command of Tom Von Fonge and Keeton Barnei respectively.

The male chorus consists of Steve Dennis, Lloyd Sims and Bill Young while the female counterparts are Dee Dee Grant. Fran Eldred, Betty Sims. Judy Harrison, Debby Fincham and Donna Lowe.

Other contributors to the production are Robin Dexter, orchestrator; Barbara Sherman, pianist; Lilo Foster, choregrapher; Cornellia (Sam) O'Conner, costume designer and Waldron O’Conner, set designer. The musical director is Judy Bomberger.

H.M.S. Pinafore is scheduled to play on October 3rd and 4th. There will be a reception before the play each evening at 7:30 p.m. on the grounds adjacent to the Mountain Magic Theatre where the curtain will go up at 8:30 P.M.

Tickets are available from members of the Rappahannock Library board, from persons in the cast and from the Rappahannock County Library. All adult contributions are five dollars while student seats for those in high school and below are $2.50 each.
