Senator Gene McCarthy, darling of political activists in the '60's, former presidential candidate and author, will read selections from his poetry at Rush River on Saturday. September 13, beginning at 1 p.m.
McCarthy, a resident of Rappahannock who spent the long winter of 1978 writing a political beastiary with nationally syndicated columnist James J. Kilpatrick, will be available to chat and autograph his books at Rush River’s informal event. His readings will cover selections from "Other Things and the Aardvark” and “Ground Fog and Night”.
