The General Educational Development (GED) Test for those persons who were once enrolled in school but who did not complete graduation requirements, will be given on Saturday, September 13. at 9 a.m. at the Warren County High School cafeteria in Front Royal.
If the number of applications is too large, some applicants will be scheduled for testing one week later. Attendance for the entire session is necessary to complete the battery of tests.
The tests, administered and supervised by the Adult Education Service of the State Department of Education, are designed to measure the educational development of individuals who left school before graduation.

Horse Clinic
Successful
Twelve riders aged 8-14 put on an impressive demonstration for their parents on August 20, the final night of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club clinic at Birchgate Farm in Amissville.
The entire riding aspect of the clinic was oriented toward the precision ride at the end. On the first day the more experienced riders worked on cantering in a group while the second division concentrated on improving their trot. In the afternoon, the two classes were combined to learn the commands necessary for a successful drill ride.
Cavaletti work for both groups was introduced the second day with the first class going on to jumping. The final day was devoted to polishing the act for the parents, all the while improving both horse and rider.
Daily lectures were given by 4-H leader Jane Naramore on basic stable management. A lecture was given by Dr. Fay Witherell on an annual schedule of horse health care.
Another extra was an exhibition of breaking the young horse given by instructor Sherry Hamill.
Tentative plans are in the offing for a two-day repeat during Thanksgiving vacation.
William David Campbell II of Washington has been awarded a bachelor of science degree in psychology by Tulane University, New Orleans. The degree was presented at the end of the summer semester.
Tulane has almost 10,000 students, more than 1600 faculty members and 11 schools and colleges.
With monuments as with men, position means everything.
