A check for possible breaks in the lines led to the discovery that pipes in the home of an absentee landowner had frozen and burst, creating an excessive drain on the system. The break was repaired but lenkins realized the reservoir level was not picking up. At that time he measured the flow per minute and determined the well was going dry.
Last year, the town tried two drillings for water on an acre it owns but with no success. Water was struck in one hole at about 600 feet but the flow was not adequate to justify installing a pump.
