At the Board of Zoning Appeals’ December 11 meeting on Steven Parlagreco’s special use permit application for converting a farm building into eight apartment units, questions were raised regarding the adequacy of the sewage disposal system approved by the health department.
According to site plans submitted to the BZA, the Castleton Farms apartment project on Route 618 to be served by two 1,000 square foot drainfields. On the basis of 12 bedrooms planned for the units, this works out to 166 square feet per bedroom, well below the 400 square feet per bedroom that an opponent of the project said he was required to provide for his residence.
The information on septic field size given in the site plans provided by Parlegreco is incorrect.
