With Marion, horses are a love and a business. When she sold Scout last fall, she deposited $7,000 in the bank, money that she'll use to finance her education. Eastham proudly reported. "She’s done it all on her own. From the first pony that she bought, she's traded up to better horses each time."

Marion is quick to point out. however, that her father has the better eye. He buys the horses, brings them home and then Marion goes over them to find one that she wants to buy a half interest in. She trains their joint ventures, starts them out over fences and once they're made, sells them and splits the profits with dad.
