New Stallions
Rec^^tly, the partners picked up three new stallions. Their show stud. Solo Performance, a gray son of Solo Landing was never defeated as a yearling when he was shown in hand, according to Dunny. IRA Boy. the Eastham's gray race sire, is their special prize. By Derby winning Dancer's Image, he’s out of a mare who sold for $500,000 at Keeneland in November. Their third stallion, a big bay named Bubba Dan, is the hunter stud. “We’ll be standing all three cheap. We’re hoping to get some good horses in the county that we can buy back," the senior Eastham admitted with a wide smile.
As Dunny walked each of the stallions out of the barn, they cavorted and snorted but stood quietly upon command under his firm hand. According to his father, he does most of the handling of the three studs. The yearlings too are his special charges.
