Stickley
Marvin Smith Stickley, 59, of Front Royal, died Saturday, August 15, 1981, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Front Royal Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Richard Bethune and Dr. Homer T. Cornish. Burial was in the Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stickley was born November 12, 1921 in Warren County, son of the late George C. and Jennie Brown Stickley. He was a retired retail merchant and a veteran of the U. S. Army and World War II.
He was a member of the Front Royal Presbyterian Church and was a life member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Disabled Veterans, the Giles B. Cook Post American Legion, Post 53, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 2382.
Surviving are his widow, Helen J. Stickley; a daughter, Judy Brown of Washington; three brothers, G. Benton Stickley and S. Stickley, both of Kingsport, Tenn. and Calvin Stickley of West Palm Beach. Fla.; two sisters, Isabelle Maddox of Limeton and Alice Cornish of Lexington, and two grandchildren.
Sisk
Mrs. Bertha Fincham Sisk, 73, died Sunday, August 16, 1981 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
Services were conducted Tuesday at the Wheeler and Thompson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. She was a retired seamstress with the Morganstern Pants Company. She is survived by three daughters. Sue Landram, Julia Knight and Margaret Rector, all of Spotsylvania; five sons. Robert M. Sisk and James E. Sisk, both of Spotsylvania. Rufus C. Sisk of Hopewell, Charles W. Sisk of Richmond and Marvin W. Sisk of Blackstone; four sisters. Mary Jenkins and Nina Sisk of Sperryville, Sadie Painter and Laura Coats, both of Culpeper; 25 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
