Baines wanted to know if this would apply only to the Blue Cross-Blue Shield plan for which the board had been making deductions in the past or if it could be applied to other hospitalization coverage the teacher might select.
The board voted, with Eastham abstaining, to authorize Massie to decide after the superintendent had found out what different insurance plans might be involved. Eastham abstained, he said, because he voted against the paid hospitalization originally.
Gas Pump Policy
Estabrook reported that the board’s policy of allowing only the superintendent and bus shop foreman Allie Huff to pump gasoline was causing problems, especially for the summer driver education program. He said he would like to make recommendations at a future meeting for allowing others to dispense gasoline.
Eastham suggested Estabrook review the minutes from the spring of 1980 to see the reason for the policy. He claimed Fauquier County had found that 22,000 gallons of gasoline had disappeared. He said the board had expected periodic reports on gasoline and “we never got any files at all.’’
