A new brick walk now leads to the door of The Rappahannock Historical Society building, and to steps at a side entrance.
Two years ago, the Rappahannock Women’s Club gave the Society money to pay for a walk, but it took some time to get all the bricks together. Old bricks were wanted and some did come from the remodeling of the clerk’s office in town, but even more were needed.
The rest of the bricks were donated by Mrs. Gladys Havstad on whose property is the remains of the brick home of John Bryan. Bryan married Nancy Lillard in 1807. Their son, born in this Old Hollow house, was Silas Lillard Bryan. Silas and his family moved away when he was only four. H_ became the father of William Jennings
