This year, nearly five million 4-H members nationwide are observing National 4-H Week starting Sunday.
This special week is held in October every year and serves to remind communities that their young people have a chance to participate in the largest out-of-school organization in the country. There are more than five million 4-H members nationwide, assisted by 523,000 volunteer leaders. Youngsters have a chance to learn more about subjects and activities that interest them, ranging from performing arts to raising healthy animals.
Rappahannock County is lucky to have a great deal of community support for 4-H and many dedicated adults who take the time to help out in the various 4-H activities.
This year, as usual, was a full one for the Rappaffannock County clubs. A review of the year’s activities shows just how many young lives were touched by the county 4-H program. This review begins just after the conclusion of last year’s 4-H week: November 1980
