daughters joining as new members. Joyce Starks was elected president, Mitchell Burke vice president, Timmy Falls secretary, Ike Leggett treasurer. The club decided to start a livestock judging team with Randall Updike, David Thornhill and Jay Miller as leaders.
Elementary School
4-H Programs
The in-school program held a special awards ceremony at the elementary school for the fourth, fifth and sixth grade students. Displaying their accomplishments at the ceremony were the Horse and Pony Club, the Chester Gap 4-H Club, and the Gover Leaf Home Economics Club.
The Livestock Club’s table was covered with ribbons won at area farm shows during the summer and more ribbons won in demonstration contests decorated the Dog Club's Projects.
Hone and Pony Gob
Fourteen members of the horse and pony club attended the Washington International Horse Show November 1. Club members went behind the scenes at the Horse Show and met the Black Stallion of movie fame and the Budweiser Clydesdales being readied for the evening performance.

Herbert Barksdale presented a check for $3,000 to Jan Palmer, Extension Office secretary, for the new 4-H Center under construction near Front Royal. The Flint Hill Homemakers donated a check for $100 for the Center.
