Mrs. W. S. Peyton was honored at a party given by her children Saturday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smoot and family of Culpeper, Mr. and Mrs. David Smoot and family, Marion and Andy Peyton and Mr. and Mrs. James R. Peyton.
Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston spent the weekend with Mrs. Johnston's brother. W. B. Carter in front Royal.
Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hoffman of Culpeper attended the homecoming at Five Forks Church near Woodville Sunday and were evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jenkins. Their son Wayne spent the weekend with his grandparents, the Jenkins.
First Baptist
Activities
The Promise Land Baptist Church Mens Chorus will be in concert at the First Baptist Church in Washington on Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m. to end the Penny Rally.
There will be regular services at First Baptist on Sunday. October 4, with Sunday School starting at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11. The public is welcome to attend.
Church Notice
The Church Of God Of Prophecy near Sperryville would like to extend an invitation to the public to attend their services which include: Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11. Sunday evening service at 7 p.m. and Wednesday evening service at 7.
The church is located on Rt. 522 and the Rev. Douglas Johns of Luray is the pastor.
