kfter Settle's testimony. 'Douglas announced that he wanted to stipulate that he'd shot Marx and dispense with the rest of the commonwealth's witnesses so as to get on with his defense. "I'm stipulating that I shot that gentleman. I don't stipulate that he's Peter Marx." the defendant said over the objections of his court appointed legal advisor.
Specifically. Douglas agreed tp stipulate to sheriff W. A. Buntin's testimony that the defendant had admitted to him that he'd shot Marx.
He agreed also to stipulate to Patricia Coffey’s corroboration of Settle's testimony, to testimony from Roger Yowell on Marx's physical condition after the shooting, to testimony from a doctor at Culpeper Hospital on the extent of Marx's wounds and to testimony from an Henricd County detective who took part in apprehending and disarming Douglas.
