He did, however, remember a November 24 telephone conversation when Douglas called and told him he would be subpoenaed to testify in the shooting trial. Carpenter recalled that Douglas said he wanted to expose this massive conspiracy against him and that he’d shot Peter Marx while making a citizen's arrest. The U.
