Craig Williams and Jeff Porter connected with the ball three out of four times at bat while henry B. Wood, Rob Brown and Tater Williams each batted .500 for the game. Porter was tagged with the loss.
On May 13, the Panthers stunned last year’s defending league champions by beating the Rangers, 8-4, on their home turf in Greene County.
Jim Williams did an excellent job on the mound for RAA, pitching a three-hitter in seven complete innings. Rob Brown, Jeff Porter and Henry B. Wood had good days at the plate, going 3-4, I 3-4 and 2-3 respectively.

On May 11, the Panthers downed the Greene County Pirates by a lopsided score of 16-6.
Chucky Jenkins was the winning pitcher for RAA while Jeff Porter picked up the save. Porter also lead the offensive attack, slamming two triples in three trips to the plate. Henry B. Wood also had a good offensive day, getting two hits in three times at bat.
The Panthers next home game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 26, at 6 p.m. when they will face the Madison County Braves at the RCHS field. Baseball fans are encouraged to come out and help cheer the team on to a winning tradition for baseball in Rappahannock County.
