Registration

The Rappahannock Athletic Association will hold registration and try-outs for its summer youth baseball program on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the elementary school field. For the 8-12 year old group, youngsters must be eight years old by May 31, 1981, but not 13 years old before August 1, 1981. Boys and girls seven years and under who have attended first grade and any other child who does not have the necessary ability to participate in the more advanced 8-12 year old group (as determined by the coaches) will participate in the T (for training) ball program. Registration fee is SS per participant with a maximum of $10 per family. Parents must accompany their child to registration on Saturday. Regular season games will be played on Monday and Thursday evenings. Players are to be at the field by 6 p.m. RAA still needs volunteers for assistant coaches, grounds keepers and umpires. Any teenagers or adults interested in assisting should call Guy Foster at 987-8939 or Huey Atkins at 987-8578.

Rapp Downed

Rappahannock's contingent in the Fauquier junior high soccer league lost their second game of the season last Saturday, defeated by Town and Country, 3-2.

Rappahannock’s two goals were scored by Aaron Schumaker on assists from Willie Arias and Bobby Ludwick.

This Saturday, Rappahannock will face Tom Frost Firestone in a contest that begins at 9 a.m. at Taylor Junior High in W.arrenton. Sponsored by Natures Foods and Cafe, the teams record is now 3-2.

Lord Fairfax

Edges Wakefield

Lord Fairfax College edged Wakefield School’s Varsity soccer team in a match at Middletown on Saturday by a score of 6-5.

Wakefield goals were scored by Wynn Voeks (3), Patrick Dubenitz (1), and Ron Lewsader (1). A return match will be played at Wakefield on Sunday. May 30.
