Stewards at Willis Chapel

The Willis Chapel United Methodist Church at Huntlv will host the gospel singing quartet, the Stewards, on Wednesday. September 8. at 7:30 p.m. Headquartered in Front Royal, the Stewards include bass Glenn Smith, baritone Roger Figgins, leader singer Bcnn\ Roach and tenor Danny Figgins. The group has traveled extensively up and down the east coast and later this tall is scheduled to perform on the west coast. The congregation of the Willis Chapel United Methodist Church invites the public to join them for the evening of entertainment.

Arts And Crafts Featured

Winchester's eighth annual Apple Flarvesl Arts and Cralls Festival will be held on September 18 and 19 in the city's Recreation Park. Artist and crallspersons from seven states have reserved space to exhibit and demonstrate. Also featured during the two-day program will be musical entertainment, food sales anti special activities relating to the apple harvest such as apple butler making. The outdoor event offers pleasant surroundings for a family outing with mans picnic tables available in the park, according to organizers. Admission is $2 with children under J4 free. 1 he Sperryville Voluqteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary is planning an evening of fine eafing. toetapping music and games for Saturday. September 4. beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the firehall.

The menu for the outdoor picnic will include fresh pork bar-b-que. grilled hotdogs, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, cake and drinks. Games will start msiuc in the firehall at 9 p.m. and throughout the evening, the air w ill echo w ith tunes from a live country music band.

The public is invited to attend. Funds raised through the evening’s activities will benefit the Ladies Auxiliary's projects and the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department. Lindsay Dorrier. Democratic candidate lor seventh district House of Representatives, will be on hand to meet guests.
