Carol Elaine Atkins of Flint Hill graduated May 14, 1983, from Longwood College in Farmville. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education While in college, Carol was involved in class activities, a member and president of Tafara, the travelling folk team for the Baptist Student Union, and chairman of Geist, Longwood's honorary leadership fraternity.
Carol, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Nelson Atkins, Jr. of Flint Hill, was a 1979 graduate of Rappahannock County High School.
Two Accepted
At Shenandoah
Two county students have been accepted for admission by Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester.
Thomas E. Lee, Jr., of Washington, will enter the nursing program at Shenandoah. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lee.
Martha Alford, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. William Alford of Chester Gap, will also enter Shenandoah’s nursing program.
Both Lee and Alford are graduates of Rappahannock County High School.
Bake Goods Needed For Sale
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary is soliciting donations of baked goods for a fund raising bake sale at the town hall on July 4th.
Baked goods can be left at the town hall that morning. If pick up is necessary, call Ruth Clark at 675-3608.
