Mrs. D.D. Miller of Washington was the hostess at two tables of bridge for the following guests: Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. Rayner V. Snead, Mrs. W.H. Moffett, Mrs. Charles T. Bruce, Mrs. Frank W. Spalding, Mrs. Charles B. Palmer, Mrs. John DeBergh and Mrs. Galley W. Smith. Prizes were won by Mrs. Palmer, Mrs. Snead and Mrs. DeBergh.
A house with 6V2 acres in a good location near Ben Venue was being offered for sale for $7,000 in the Rappahannock News classified section.
The Sperryville Fire Company was building a new fire house and recreation hall on the carnival grounds in Sperryville. Of cinder block construction, the building was to contain a hall, a kitchen, two rest rooms, a stage, 2 dressing rooms and space to house two pieces of fire equipment.
