Those planning to attend the traditional fourth of July celebration in Washington should not forget the other events of the weekend, offering both fun and a chance to benefit worth while local groups.
On Saturday, July 2, from four to seven, the Ruritans are holding their annual July pit beef barbeque dinner at the Amissville fire hall. Tickets, available at the door, are $6.00, and $3.00 for children.
The dinner includes beef, baked beans, succatash, cole slaw and coffee or iced tea. There will be entertainment from four to five.
After feasting on barbeque, diners can change into their best and dance off some of the extra calories at the costume ball Saturday night at Jessamine Hill, benefitting the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC).' •
