Service when a pond on property adjacent to the proposed site would not hold water. Water from the pond was running into the Rush River by way of the fault. "When I discussed this matter with him (the geologist) without telling him that there was a landfill proposed to be here he was telling me about this, and when we finally mentioned the fact that they were proposing a landfill his first comment was That’s bad,m said Reynolds. Reynolds told the commission that the geologist said that the fault would act as a drainpipe from the landfill in any direction that gravity would make the pollution run.
The effects of a proposal on the transportation network is a consideration listed in the comprehensive plan. The property is located on Route 621 which is a secondary road. Reynolds told the commission that the narrowness, curves and hills on Route 626 that would be used by the public to get to the site from one direction would make a trip to the landfill dangerous. Reynolds said that now Route 621 coming in from the other direction is unpaved with steep hills and is even narrower than Route 626.
