BZA Chairman Lee Bird told the other members that the special use permit application for the house on Lot F was a new application that forced the board to reconsider the view of the zoning ordinance and the comprehensive plan taken before that a 25 acre lot in a conservation district should have a single family house on it. Board member Peter Kramer voiced his concerns over the possibility of the properties being sold by Sal tons tall at some time, and over the precedent that the board would be setting that would have implications for the future.

“I think that there is a difference in how land is affected by multi-family dwellings by a number of factors,” said Kramer. “The type of ownership is significant.” Kramer said that from his experience it is better if the owner occupies the dwelling, and that there are problems with absentee owners.
