Boston and Greenleaf lettuce are low in calories and higher in nutritional value than iceberg lettuce. One serving, chopped or shredded, contains approximately 530 mg. of vitamin A and 145 mg. of potassium. The wm serving of iceberg lettuce contains approximately 180 mg. of vitamin A amf 96 mg. of potassium. All three lettuce varieties contain less than 10 calories each.

Before their introduction. Waterfield Farms Boston and Greenleaf lettuce were tested on homemakers in Chicago, Boston, Washington, Balti• more and Portland, Maine. Waterfield Farms Boston and Greenleaf lettuce are grown hydropomcaDy (in water) in a seven-acre greenhouse in Rapidan, Virginia, only minutes from Rappahannock. Heads harvested in the morning can be in the supermarket produce department the same day.

Using 'the most modern hydroponic growing methods, the growers have been able to duplicate and maintain ideal growing conditions yearround.
