His commitment to the county this year went beyond the needs of the library.
A Financial “Wizard”
Considered a financial wizard by newspaper columnists in New York, Chicago, Anchorage and elsewhere, Mr. Jamieson has spent 62 years in the securities business. This experience, according to a Chicago Tribune report of October 1972, “has earned Jamieson an almost legendary reputation among Ms peers.”
It’s this financial experience Mr. Jamieson has shared for years with the library and the Rappahannock Hunt Club. This year, on a voluntary basis, he also shared it with the county’s Water and Sewer Authority (WSA).
Some time ago, Carson Johnson, WSA member from Sperryville, attended a financial discussion directed by Mr. Jamieson at the Rappahannock County Library. Mr. Johnson had not forgotten Mr. Jamieson’s presentation when a report some two inches thick on the financial needs of the Authority came before WSA members earlier this year.
