Mr. and Mrs. John T. Harrison, Sr. of Viewtown announace the marriage of their daughter, Connie L. Harrison to Robert D. Bowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bowers of Amissville.
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Steven Parker at the Amissville Methodist Church.
The bride, escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a formal gown of satin featuring a lace covered bodice with a sheer yoke and stand-up collar. The gathered skirt had sweeping chapel train edged in lace and her fingertip veil fell from a lace covered satin cap. The bride’s sister, Martha Kidwell, made her gown. The bride carried a bouquet of cascading white roses and lavender carnations accented with ivory, baby’s breath and pink apple blossoms. White lace streamers fell from the bouquet.
Soloist was Stephenie Bowers. She sang The Wedding Song and A Time for Us. Organist was Debbie Flock.
The maid of honor was Melissa Dennis of Castleton. She wore a lavender gown of polyester with a sheer bodice and carried a bouquet of lavender roses, pink carnations and purple apple blossoms accented with baby’s breath and purple streamers.
The matron of honor was Helen Berry, sister of the bride. She wore a pink gown identical to the maid of honor and carried a bouquet of pink roses, lavender carnations and purple apple blossoms accented with baby’s breath and pink streamers.
The bridesmaids were Robin Bowers of Amissville, sister of the groom, Sue Walter of Washington, sister-inlaw of the bride and Phoebe Pierson
