passed by votes of four to one. Monahan asked that the plans for the house on Lot G be submitted to the board when the plans are finalized.
Permits
In other business, the BZA decided two separate special use permit applications. An application was submitted by Florence Cover for permission to build a second house on her eight acre lot. Cover has a three bedroom house on her property, and she requested the permit for a one bedroom guest cottage. The board decided to continue the application so that the members can make an on-site inspection.
The board denied a special use permit for Mr. and Mrs. William B. Pierce to operate a bed and breakfast in Slate Mills. The Planning Commission had recommended that the application for four bedrooms be approved, but that any additions would have to have separate applications. Pierce told the board that he would want approval of the permit for nine bedrooms or a denial. The board heard two citizens of the area who were concerned about the affect the bed a breakfast could have on traffic and well water. The board denied the application unanimously.
