PSAT scores
‘best ever’
Along with the report that Wakefield School had the highest National Merit Semi-Finalist percentage of any school, public or private, in Virginia during the 1985-86 school year, a Wakefield spokesman reported that the 1986-87 PSAT scores received recently are the “best ever.”
Headmaster William Lynn said that a total of 18 students surpassed the qualifying index of 176. These stqdent8 represent the top five percent in the nation on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Hferit Qualifying Test.
Final results of the testing for this school year will be announced in 1987. Finalists and semi-finalists become eligible for special college scholarships and grants.
Aurora trio
appears at CHS
The five-county Community Concert Association will welcome the New Year with the presentation of the Aurora Trio on Sunday, Jan. 11, at 3 p.m. in the auditorium of the Culpeper County High School.
The Aurora Trio, first organized in 1974, features three performers, each an accomplished soloist in his or her own right, having appeared with a number of orchestras, chamber music ensembles, and in many music festivals in Europe, South America and this country.
Association members are reminded that admission to the concert is by membership card only. No tickets will be sold at the door.
