Carol Odom
Carol Herndon Odom, 74, died Dec. 30 in Norfolk General Hospital. She was a native of Washington, D. C.
Her husband Thomas D. Odom predeceased her. She is survived by a brother Maurice Gordon Herndon ofSperryville.
A funeral service was conducted Jan. 2 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Suffolk. Burial was at Arlington National Cemetery on Jan. 5.

Cynthia Jenkins
Cynthia E. Jenkins, 85, of Winchester died Dec. 29 in Winchester.
Mrs. Jenkins was born June 18, 1901, in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Newton and Emily Corbin Nicholson.
She had been employed by National Fruit, Zeropack and O’Sullivan Corp. She was a member of Highland Avenue Memorial Presbysterian Church and Major Mosby Barracks 1526.
She was married and widowed four times. Her husbands were the late L. Nicholson, J. Shade, L. Miller and W. Vance.
Surviving are four children, Colleen Shade Shoemaker, Archie Nicholson and Arthur Nicholson, all of Winchester, and Ardell Nicholson of Salt Lake City, Utah, a brother Monie Corbin of Flint Hill, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a step-grandchild.
A funeral service was conducted Jan. 2 at the Jones Funeral Home, Winchester, by the Rev. Fritz Ritsch. Burial was in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Winchester.
Pallbearers were Roy Clark, Leonard Boyce, Archie Nicholson Jr. and Richard Ramey.
