Competing in the nationwide Coca-Cola Junior NASTAR ski racing program, Phelps Lane of Woodville placed second in Virginia in the five and six-year-old category. He recorded a season-best 55 handicap in competition at Bryce Resort to earn the second-place finish.
“It is quite an accomplishment for these young racers to make the state rankings,” said NASTAR Commissioner Bob Beattie. “Phelps is one of the best recreational ski racers in Vriginia and can be very proud of this achievement. I hope to see these young racers competing in the Olympics some day.”
Phelps is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Phelps Lane of Woodville.
