Potomac Edison customers who have trouble paying their bills this - winter can take advantage of several energy assistance programs.

Weatherization, energy and emergency energy assistance are available to customers through the following local governmental agencies:

• Rappahannock Department of Social Services, Rappahannock Medical Center, Gay Street, Washington, 675-3326.

• Culpeper Department of Social Services,, 155 W. Davis Street, Culpeper, 825-1251.

In addition, Potomac Edison provides for weatherization

mateiws^to be permanently installed rnhomes of electric heat customers meeting state ’ low-income energy assistance guidelines. Through P-E’s Weatherization Residential Assistance Program (WRAP), up to $500 per household will be contributed toward the installation of weatherization items in homes of qualified customers. Participants will also receive a free home energy analysis to determine the types of weatherization needed, plus a water heater insulation jacket, electrical outlet draft seals, door sweeps and low-flow shower heads.

Other assistance programs available through Potomac Edison yindude:

• Average Payment Plan: levels out higher and lower electric bills over the year to allow for an? averaged payment each month.

• Installment Payment Plan: allows customers to pay off higher winter bills over a period of months.

• Bill Extender Plan: delays the due date of a customer’s bill until after receipt of Social Security check.

• Hospitalization- Deferment Plan: delays collection action until a customer confined to a hospital recovers and returns home.

• Life Support Priority: maintains priority electric service of customers who are seriously il1 or rely on life support equipment.

• Third-Party Notification Plan: enables customers to designate another person to receive copies of service disconnection notices.
