Mr. Sangster added that, at divestiture, AT&T’s intrastate (within Virginia) rates dropped 15 percent. “We hope that sometime in the near future we can make a further reduction in those rates.”
AT&T also announced plans for discount calling to apply on five additional holidays: Memorial Day, President’s Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day and Martin Luther King Day. Currently, discounted rates apply on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
