In memory of my beloved husband, Alvin L. Atkins, who went to be with Jesus, two years ago, January 9,1985. The call came two years ago today,
God sent his angel and carried you away. I loved you, but God loved you best, Took you to Heaven to give you rest. God watched you as you suffered, He knew you had had your share He gently closed your beautiful eyes, And took you into His care. No one but Jesus knows the heartaches I bear. For our lives together, no longer we share. Daily I gaze at your picture and can trarjg, All the kindness in your face. I thank God for a kind, loving soul, You surely possessed a heart of gold. $o treasure him dear Lord in your garden of rest For when on earth, he was one of the best. You loved your Bible that taught Jesus is the Way, and following Him, I will meet you someday, I loved you then, I love you still. Forget you, NO, I never will. Deep in my heart a memory is kept, Of the one I loved and will never forget. Rest on with God till again I see you, For when Jesus calls, I'm coming too.
