Senator Kevin Miller will hold a public meeting Jan. 9 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the Rappahannock County courthouse to give area citizens the opportunity to discuss issues of concern prior to the 1987 session of the Virginia General Assembly which will convene on Jan. 14.

A major area of legislative activity will involve changes in the state income tax laws to prevent another large tax increase following Governor Baliles’ whopping tax increase (more than $400 million per year) for “critical” transportation needs.
