Katie Owen

Katie Jordan Owen, 93, died Jan. 2 at Rutherford’s Rest Home in Front Royal, where she had been a resident.

Mrs. Owen was bom Oct. 18, 1894, in Sperryville, the daughter of William A. and Martha Hudnall Jordan.

A retired school teacher, she was a past vice president and historian of the United Daughters of the Confederacy chapter, and a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church.

Her husband Otis 0. Owen Sr. predeceased her. She is survived by ane son Otis 0. Owen Jr. of Annaniale and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 5 at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Dwight Wadsworth. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Webster, Peter Heichler, Jon Gettman, J. H. Downing, J. D. White and B. Ney Scheuer.
