The General Assembly convenes on Jan. 13 and I, along with 39 other Senators, will be sworn in for a fouryear term. Also, all 100 Delegates will be sworn in for two-y^ar terms.
Several controversial/pieces of legislation have been pre-filed. A lot of other interesting and controversial activity will be underway by the time the members are sworn in, not the least of which will be the reorganization of the Senate. Six senators will be beginning their first term, which will cause significant changes in the make-up of committee mem' bership. y Two bills have been pre-filed that provide for increasing the speed limit on rural interstate highways. I am still undecided on this issue. I received just last week a 146-page report submitted to the Secretary of. Transportation and Public Safety by a special task force that did a study y
