Finally, they decided on a system with a three-way split in power. There would be three governmental branches: Judicial, Executive and Legislative. The Judicial System would be based on trial by jury and the concept that a man is innocent until proven guilty. The Executive branch would consist of a President with the power to veto. However, the Legislative branch, divided into ( a Senate arid a House of Representatives, could overule the Presidential r veto if in a re-vote two-thirds of their body so ruled.
