is someone willing to assume the duties of race director, the overall coordinator of the' entire event, she said. With the assistance of several other volunteers, Ms. Bruce continued, the race could continue. However, “it’s going to die unless someone is willing to take it over and become race director.”
Ms. Bruce stressed that there are a number of people throughout the county who have helped with the race, both preparations and on race day, and that volunteers are still willing. The real need is for a race director to take charge of the planning and groundwork.
